OUR VISION
The PALO IT impact journey
As innovators, we're committed to helping businesses transform to better our world. On that same token, we’re also committed to transforming ourselves. There are massive implications for ESG in the tech sector and in the industries that we serve, and it is our goal to together build products, services and business models that provide both business value and positive impact.
Below are both our accomplishments, and more importantly, the goals we’ve set for the coming years. As an Agile organisation, we’re eager to adapt to change, learn from our experiences and move to meet our planet’s urgent needs.
Our path forward
With 2025 as our horizon, we are taking action to meet the following objectives and key results.
Inverting climate change isn’t just our priority, it’s a global priority. We are assessing our GHG footprint across our offices worldwide, and reducing our operation-related emissions. What can’t be avoided, we‘ll proactively offset. All that said, PALO IT will become a net-zero company by 2025.
What’s more, we are also helping our clients to shift towards net-zero through innovative tech solutions.
By 2025, we aim to make the majority of our revenue from projects that have a positive impact on our world. We will continue to pursue business development strategies and project opportunities, and upgrade our methods and delivery models to serve the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
As we gradually shift tech practices, we’ll be augmenting our offerings and capabilities inspired by the most sustainable standards on the market (Impact Design, Green IT, etc.). Further to that, we will always advise our clients to seek impact-driven solutions to future-proof their businesses.
We aim to train every individual across PALO IT on the current state of the world, the impact of tech and how the industry has a role to play. This means training, upskilling and enabling everyone on our team to monitor impact in their roles, as well as using toolkits and methodologies to deliver projects in a responsible manner.
We seek to construct a transparent, shared understanding of what’s at stake across every arm of our organisation, not just the ones that traditionally invite sustainable practices.
Obtaining B Corp certification is not for the faint of heart! It requires continuously challenging our practices and improving our ways of doing business with a purpose.
By 2025, every one of our 11 offices will be B Corp-certified . As we continue to grow, certification will be a crucial aspect of opening new offices in new locations in the future.
We are developing a “Happiness Index” for our teams around the world, custom-built to gauge their sentiment, and meet their expectations for happiness in the workplace. We strive to reach a score of 90% 'Happiness at Work'.
We also see diversity as a force for positivity. It’s no secret that the tech industry has long faltered on these matters, but we are committed to increasing a meaningful proportion of our team who identify as women among our ranks, especially at leadership levels.
A sustainable blueprint for all
Awareness is the first step in change, and sitting front and centre in our company consciousness are the United Nations' 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs), a set of global targets designed by the UN to build a better and more sustainable future for all.
By serving as our North Star, they define “what” we need to do, so our organisation can focus on the “how”. From influencing behaviours, to building sustainable products, to rallying our ecosystem towards large-scale change, any impactful technology that seeks to make meaningful change must keep the SDGs in mind.
The B Corp movement
Certified B Corporations are leaders of a global movement of people using business as a force for good, voluntarily meeting the highest standards of overall social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. There are over 2,700 B Corps from more than 150 industries across 60+ countries.
Our certification journey has helped us consider our own operating model and become more conscious of the many ways we are impacting on our world. These empowering truths keep us on our toes, and ultimately reveal greater strategies in becoming and remaining a sustainable organisation.
Currently, our offices in Singapore and Hong Kong are fully certified, and we’re working towards certification across all other locations.
Champion a new era of change
PALO IT's acceptance into the 2021 World Economic Forum (WEF) New Champions programme is a privilege and responsibility, and also serves as a marker for where we—and technology companies—can make a difference as we sally forth in the coming years.
WEF New Champions are a group of 100+ dynamic, high-growth companies that are applying new business models and emerging technologies in their everyday work. Above all, members of the community put their unique expertise to use for the betterment of society and our planet, ensuring that sustainable growth strategies are applied to their fullest potential during the fourth industrial revolution.
